Singing about life in the key of passion, you wear your expectations on your sleeve, just like you always did. Did you know I never even saw you try, just succeed? And the band pumps out your music, and the glasses and mirrors reflect your fire and send it thundering through the room.
You wouldn’t say Mark Gillespie‘s music is hard to pigeonhole: his style can easily be classified as melodic rock with funk influences. Yet, this British busker performing across Germany, one of my favourite artists, is far from ordinary: his creativity, humour and improv talents turn his shows into vibrant, personal, truly joyful events.
His poetic lyrics belong to songs that unfold a plethora of styles to those who care to stay and listen. Some will sound like pure Jazz, others are reminiscent of Nirvana, an 8-minute jam session is followed by blues, then a quick and witty acoustic number.
Highly recommended artist if you’re in Germany.
